Luboš obtained a Master degree in Civil Engineering at the Technical University in Zvolen, Slovakia. He completed his Master degree in modelling of transient energy flow through heterogeneous building construction. He continues with his studies at ETH Zürich, Switzerland, where he completed a PhD degree in Acoustics. Luboš worked as Head of Building and Room Acoustics Group at EMPA Dübendorf. He taught Acoustics at ETH Zürich and Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Art. He gained practical experience as a building physicist at Mühlebach Partner in Wiesendangen and Marshall Day Acoustics New Zealand. In 2008 Luboš established a Consulting Company K+I Acoustics and Building Physics which was retitled to Soundtherm in 2013.
Jeff’s building career began more than 20 years ago learning to build homes to suit the harsh Atlantic Canadian climate where he was brought up. He brought these skills to New Zealand when he immigrated in 2003. He obtained his National Certificate in Carpentry (NZQA) and is a licenced Building Practitioner. Jeff is passionate about creating healthy living environments that perform well over their life time, incorporating alternative building methods and using non-toxic building material whenever possible.
